Located in Kenmore, this 13-acre park is a good choice if you’re not in the mood for anything too strenuous. Park at Bothell Landing

This six-acre park features both paved and graveled paths and several interesting historical buildings. The adjacent Sammamish River Trail is perfect for a stoned meander.

Wallace Swamp Creek Park

If you need to take a break from the Suburban mire, this woodsy 25-acre park is an ideal destination. Swamp Creek is prettier than it sounds, and the park is minimally manicured, creating a relaxing ambiance for picnicking and roaming.

Saint Edward State Park

The Seattle area is rare in providing easy access to world class urban amenities and world class woodlands and waterfronts. Take advantage of the latter by heading over to Saint Edward State Park, where a huge stretch of undeveloped lake shore abounds with wildlife, including deer, otters, herons, and bald eagles. Once the grounds of a Catholic seminary, the 316-acre park is an interesting ramble for history nerds and nature enthusiasts alike.
