When we launched Have a Heart in 2011, we had a big dream: That one day, we might run a whole family of medical and recreational dispensaries. We knew it would take a lot of elbow grease and patience, and we also knew that we’d need to team up with equally dedicated and passionate growers, producers and partners.
That’s why we like to take a moment from time to time out to call out a few of those great partners who keep our dispensaries stocked with impeccably fresh, locally grown and exciting cannabis products. It’s because of them we’re able to offer such a wide range of cannabis, including everything from classic and unusual strains of flower to the newest extracts, dabs and concentrates to topicals, tinctures and enticing edibles.
Today’s featured guest is Treehawk Farms, a dedicated band of growers based on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. Their focus on all-natural, pesticide-free growing techniques makes for some truly exceptional cannabis products we’re proud to offer.
Treehawk Farms: Cannabis With Purpose
With its hot—but not scorching—weather and cooling winds off Puget Sound, Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula is home to some of the most prized cannabis-growing land in the world. Once a 200-acre dairy, the farm had closed up shop in 2002. Rather than let the land sit idle, owner Jason Olsen figured there was something a bit more enticing than milk to be made on his gorgeous spread of land.
Treehawk brings a uniquely naturalistic perspective to growing top-shelf cannabis. In addition to following no-pesticide and only-organic nutrient protocol, the farm is pioneering a “TriBrid” system. Using a mix of full-spectrum indoor lighting and good old sunshine, the idea is to increase sustainability by minimizing reliance on electric power, a major cost of growing cannabis indoors.
Treehawk’s focus extends to their extra-long drying and curing times: At least two weeks in a temperature, wind and humidity-controlled environment, and then up to a month of hand-curing with daily monitoring to maximize aroma, flavor and smoke.
Have a Heart’s Favorite Treehawk Farms Strains
We love handcrafted weed, and we think Treehawk is some of the best we’ve yet tried. If you’re interested in any of our favorite strains, be sure to check our live menu before heading down to the dispensary. As you might guess, cannabis this good doesn’t stay on the shelf for long!
Chocolate Thai

This rare sativa imparts a powerfully euphoric but cerebral high, combined with a relaxing and stress-dissolving subfloor. The buds give a unique (and powerfully delicious) chocolate-coffee aroma. This strain is a descendent of rare Thai landrace genetics, and while it’s extremely hard to grow, the hard work is well worth it!
Magnum PI

Supposedly, this energizing sativa is a descendant of one of the Hawaiian family strains, though nobody is quite sure which one it is! Regardless, it’s a stimulating cross supposedly created by Seahorse Gardens off Puget Sound. You’ll smell citrus and sweet earth, and you’ll be delighted by the heady, gentle buzz.
Snoop’s Dream

This indica-dominant hybrid mixes Blue Dream and Master Kush, purportedly two of Snoop’s favorites. The flavor reveals the strain’s kush side, with sweet blueberry and a pine aftertaste. Be forewarned: This smoke leans heavily indica and may make obliterate any focused work you had planned!
