Must Love Dank: Have A Heart’s Favorite Seattle Dog Parks

By hahoakland

If you had to pick your top five things to do while on kind bud, what would they be? One of our favorite pastimes  is a no-pressure, extremely enjoyable, spread-the-love form of recreation: dog park visit! We won’t tell you how to spend your prized free time but if you do have a cherished canine companion, we can guide you in the direction of our favorite Seattle dog parks for the two of you to go deeper with your bond.

First a visit to Have A Heart Greenwood is imperative. You don’t need it but you know from experience it just makes the day that much better. This Ballard weed store can hook you up with the cannabis-infused products and flowers that take a regular day and make it profound. Here are our favorite Seattle Dog Parks:

Woodland Park Off Leash Area
Just opposite the south end of Green Lake (very convenient to Have A Heart) is Woodland Park Off Leash Area (aka Lower Woodland Off Leash Area). Your pooch will be pumped for the chance to run loony up and down stairs, over dirt hills, and back and forth on the paths. One look into his grateful eyes and you’ll experience the divinity of unconditional love.

Discovery Park
At 3801 Discovery Park Blvd. you can bring along your best friend and get into all kinds of trouble with unforgettable views of Mt. Rainier, grassy fields and Elliot Bay—and the lighthouse. Access the beach from the Loop Trail—WARNING: your dog should be in good shape as this path has hundreds of steps to climb. This is definitely the place to go if you have a new or young pup who needs tiring out.

This is also a great park for socializing and people-and-pooch watching so be sure to supplement with socially stimulating strains you can find at nearby Have A Heart Greenwood, your ticket to the best weed in North Seattle. We’d go straight for the Banana Kush, a great Indica-dominant hybrid that will loosen your tongue, perk you up and bring out your innate wit. Or just joust with your pooch and have your own private conversation. More info on Discovery Park

Ballard Corners Park
Trot on down to 1702 NW 62nd Street and walk your pooch among the pleasant sites to take in this side of the Sound. More info on Ballard Corners here.

Golden Gardens Off-Leash Dog Park
This off-leash area is great for thirsty pups and has lots of water stops. There’s also a separate space for small dogs and a fun trail that connects the dog park to the beach. Golden Gardens is at 8498 Seaview Pl NW in Ballard. More info on Golden Gardens Park here.

Magnolia Manor Park
This postage stamp sized off-leash dog park is quite a treat. Your dogs can get wet and wild as they run around the reservoir, tearing it up. Warning: your dog will most likely need a bath later. Magnolia Manor is at 3500 28th Avenue West. More info on Magnolia Manor Park here.
