Are you ready for our High CBD Strains List? Let’s first talk a little bit about what makes CBD so awesome! While not quite a panacea — of course, nothing is truly a panacea — CBD is considered a wonder drug thanks to its versatility in treating a wide range of conditions with few side-effects. Also, CBD has few to no psychotropic effects making it great for users who want the health benefits of CBD without getting totally “high.” In fact, CBD neutralizes the potentially undesirable effects of THC (e.g. heightened anxiety, paranoia, cognitive impairments).
Both CBD and THC can produce incredible therapeutic benefits and the duo work together synergistically to amplify marijuana’s therapeutic effects. Moreover, not only is CBD not addictive, evidence suggests it may be valuable in treating addictions, from alcohol to opioids.
Because Have a Heart believes strongly in the power of CBD, we always carry a remarkably diverse selection of high-CBD products. We assembled a list of five of our favorites, which was no easy task given how many incredible high-CBD strains now exist!
The High CBD Strains List

Here are five of our favorites:
CBD Critical Mass Untrimmed
Dream City
Indica-Dominant
9.4% CBD 5.5% THC
Critical Mass from Dream City is an intriguing high-CBD strain, perfectly balanced at 2:1 CBD to THC (9.4% CBD 5.5% THC). While it grows like a Sativa, it flowers like an Indica, and being 80% Indica, it is an unmistakable Indica-dominant strain. From its humble beginnings, it was bred specifically to maximize medicinal benefits.
CBD Critical Mass is touted as being effective in treating anorexia, depression, inflammation, insomnia, muscle pain, muscle spasms, and stress. Not only is it hugely medicinal, with its earthy, woody, and sweet flavors, this strain is delicious. It should be no surprise why this strain made our high CBD strains list.
Fans of this strain most commonly report the effects as relaxing, tingly, happy & uplifting. And, it is great at helping you sleep.
[Important Note: There is a high-THC version that has sky-high THC that will knock you on your ass, which can be a good thing if that’s what you’re looking for. But, be sure you’re buying the high-CBD version if you want a highly medicinal strain that doesn’t produce much of a high.]
What are they saying about CBD Critical Mass?
“This strain should be famous…If you like CBD you have to try this. It’s hard to find CBD weed that leans Indica, which this one does. Extremely (seriously) well rounded full body high that makes me think there must be something very special going on with the cannabinoid and terpene profile in this particular strain. Every time I smoke it, it’s perfect. I’m very picky about strains because I have a super low tolerance and the differences between them really affect me. CBD Critical Mass makes me feel like I’m smoking weed that has a 100 percent guarantee of no THC-induced anxiety. Frankly, it’s brilliant stuff. Like I said, it should be famous… No matter what level of weed smoker you are, you should try this. Especially if you love the magical ratio of THC: CBD. You know what it feels like? Feels like I imagined the weed that Gandalf is smoking in Lord of the Rings would feel.” — The Cannappist
White Widow – Giant
Solstice
Indica-Dominant
3.8% CBD 17.1% THC
White Widow, yes, the White Widow. An obvious addition to our high CBD strains list, this legendary Indica-dominant strain is rumored to have been created in the fertile mountains in the Western Ghats of Kerala, India, a region also known for its fragrant teas, coffees, and spices. Blessed with an incredibly smooth exhale, you probably won’t even cough after a long draw.
Now, technically, White Widow is not a high-CBD strain, but we included it because it was bred with the optimal amount of CBD as a buffer (1-4%). What’s a CBD buffer? A CBD buffer lessens some of the effects of THC that many users may find undesirable. Most strains on the market contain (often significantly ) less than 1% CBD
As an anxiolytic (meaning a drug used to treat anxiety), CBD can neutralize the THC’s tendency to produce anxiety or anxiousness that some users experience. Moreover, CBD lessens the adverse cognitive effects that THC is famous for (e.g. short-term memory). Finally, important for patients and health-minded users, CBD and THC work best together (think synergy).
Our White Widow produced by Solstice runs about 17% THC and nearly 4% CBD, a killer combo! Beyond being a great strain of recreational users, consumers report White Widow is helpful in treating PTSD, depression, stress and anxiety, nausea, and pain. It’s a versatile strain that works great for daytime or evening use. The one undesirable effect we hear is that it can give you a killer case of cotton mouth, so keep the beverages handy!

Harlequin
Washington Bud Company
Sativa-Dominant
6.5% THC 10.9% CBD
Last but not least, the ubiquitous Harlequin makes our high CBD strains list. One of the most popular High-CBD strains in North America, we’re pretty sure you’ve heard of, are familiar with, or are a current user of Harlequin. Who isn’t? There’s a reason this strain is so popular and why it easily made our high CBD strains list.

Why is Harlequin so popular?
We think genetics may have something to do with it. Hailing from an impressive heritage of Colombian Gold, Thai and Swiss landrace strains, and a Nepali indica, Harlequin is a 75/25 sativa-dominant strain. Harlequin fans love to extol its virtues: a consistent CBD: THC ratio (5:2 CBD: THC and a proportional 8–16% CBD, 4–7% THC); clear-headed, uplifting, focus-producing sativa effects; reliably treats anxiety, chronic pain, depression, gastrointestinal issues, inflammation, PMS and cramps, and migraines; relaxing without causing sedation. It makes sense why Harlequin is on almost everyone’s high CBD strains list.

What are they saying about Harlequin?
Great for chronic pain:
“Harlequin is a great strain that is high in CBD. It quickly alleviates the pain in my body (knees and lower back) and allows me to function at 100% without the cloudiness of other strains. It has also helped with nausea. I highly recommend everyone have some in their medicine cabinet.” — Jaktyboy
Effective at treating GI inflammation and bleeding:
“Harlequin has been nothing short of a miracle for my varied health problems. I am 30 years old and had not done cannabis before. I was researching ways to heal my gastrointestinal inflammation and bleeding, which contributes to most of my other problems (allergies, hormonal imbalance, fatigue, exercise intolerance, etc) and decided to give cannabis a try. I did some other strains before trying a high CBD, low THC strain. I didn’t really enjoy the spaciness most highs impart; I’m one of those people that really likes my brain being as active and engaged and coherent as possible, so other strains just bored me. I really need my short-term memory intact, too; that drives me crazy. So I got a strain of Harlequin that’s 15% CBD to 7% THC… I AM NOT EXAGGERATING WHEN I SAY HARLEQUIN HAS TURNED MY LIFE AROUND.” — Nattiecakes (read the full review here)
Treats migraines, too:
“I. Love. Harlequin. I recently “detoxed” from prescription migraine medications. I was taking 15 plus Imitrex a month. I saw several doctors and they were all like ‘keep taking them! It’s not a problem.’ What a bunch of crap. The Imitrex and topamax (thank god I was only on that briefly) were both causing tons of rebound headaches. That was a few months ago…I’m now back to my “normal” level of migraines: 3-4 a month. So if you’re in that boat “ABANDON SHIP!” — lmichelle6585
