To participate in this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Dash you’ll have to register ahead of time. Online registration is available, and both the full 5k run and a smaller 1k course are offered. The starting line for this year’s St.Patrick’s Day Dash Dash 5k will start at the Seattle Center before traveling south on 5th Avenue then following 4th Avenue to Seneca. From there the run will take 2nd Avenue to finish back at the Seattle Center. This offers a wide area for vantage points to catch the emerald wave of athletic effort that’ll be pouring through the downtown streets.
This year’s course also happens to pass just a stone’s throw from Have a Heart Belltown, so if you’re planning to get some pictures of the run, come on down in advance to scope out a good spot and to grab some big green nugs from Have a Heart Belltown. They’ve got inspiration by the gram or by the ounce!
Proceeds from the St.Patrick’s Day Dash benefit the Detlef Schrempf Foundation which helps support children and families across the northwest. What a way to make a great time even better, giving back and having fun! Oh, and did I mention there is also gonna be a costume contest? So make a pre-dash sprint to the nearest costume store to put together your own prize winning St.Patty’s Day creation!
